To guide the general citizen regarding the registration of cooperative housing societies.

To guide regarding the holding of various committee meetings and the proceedings thereof.

To guide the societies regarding any changes to be made in the bye-laws of the housing societies.

To guide the housing societies by organizing various conferences, seminars, workshops, gatherings, etc., regarding the cooperative housing movement and by organizing a lecture series on the cooperative movement.

To raise awareness about the various problems faced by the cooperative housing movement through newspapers and other media, and through social media and to organize public opinion on them.

To guide the cooperative housing societies in each department through the divisional offices.

To send a representative of the federation to the general meetings of cooperative housing societies, if the society gives a written invitation, and to guide them regarding the proceedings of the meeting.

To guide regarding the redevelopment and deemed conveyance of the society.
To provide training to the members and committee members of the society.

To provide support to resolve the issues of society before the government.
To guide the main promoter of cooperative housing societies regarding holding the first general meeting and the proceedings of this meeting.

To provide books and booklets regarding the laws made from time to time regarding cooperative housing societies, amendments suggested thereto, new government proposals and provisions under the Maharashtra Cooperative Societies Act, 1960, Maharashtra Cooperative Societies Rules, 1961.

To provide guidance on various problems of a general and specific nature in housing societies, excluding individual cases.

To provide copies of all types of bye-laws and other materials required while forming a cooperative housing society.

To make available for sale in printed form the registers, account books, etc., required by cooperative housing societies, and to guide on how to write them.

The Federation publishes a quarterly magazine called Thane Herald, from which important circulars, legal advice, office decisions, guidance articles, and Federation programs are printed.

To recover dues as per section 154 B 29.

To conduct manager training classes.

Appointing a manager for the organization.

Conducting management classes for college students.
